Hunting

Sea Duck HuntingWith a nip in the morning air and the rustle of the gold and red colored leaves on the trees. Signals that it is once again Fall in Maryland. It is also time when flocks of waterfowl migrate from Northern Canada to their wintering grounds on the Chesapeake Bay. It is time once again for Captain Joey to ready the "Independence" for Sea Duck hunting. Sea Ducks is a name given to various types of diving ducks that spend their days feeding in the shallow water of the open bay. Mostly old squaws and three types of scoters, the common, White Winged and Surf scoter. The hunting season runs from the first week of October and thru January, Cast-n-Blast trips (hunting and rockfishing), October and November then hunting only December and January. We recommend four people maximum for these outings, remember guns and alcohol don't mix.
